Tell us a bit about yourself
¡Hola! I am a Chipotle-obsessed, Ecuadorian who spends a lot of time in local coffee shops with a hip aesthetic. I am just a sucker for marble table tops and minimalist design. I also love music as well as playing the piano, ukulele, and singing. My best party trick is harmonizing with a microwave or singing “Happy Birthday” on one key. Currently, I work as an academic advisor for my University, and also received my M.A. in Strategic Communication. As a social media and marketing fanatic, I hope to either work as a professor or creative director for a creative agency. But, for now, all aspects of higher education are helping me become professionally well-rounded.
What are some of your hobbies?
My first love is playing the piano and singing. Music has been ingrained in me since I was born, and I haven’t stopped loving it. I dabble in photography too–though, I mostly take pictures of my friends, family, and food. I also can spend hours doing graphic design. Whether it’s a birthday card or gift wrapping paper, I will always try to design my own things before buying from a store.
What are some current interests you have?
Currently, I am super intrigued by sound engineering and production. I love learning about what goes on in the studio, how music is made, and what it takes to make an album come to life.
What are three fun facts about you?
- I won a national Chipotle contest, in which only 3 people won free catering valued around $500.
- I own all 7 seasons of the Golden Girls on DVD.
- Enrique Iglesias touched my shoulder at a Good Morning America taping in New York City in Summer 2008.
What do you love most about yourself?
What I love most about myself is my unending perseverance and thirst for life. My family has taught me that giving up is not an option and struggling is a sign of growth.
How would you define your lifestyle right now as a young adult?
I’m always on-the-go! Whether it’s with friends or family, I am usually at a social event at a restaurant, bakery, or coffee shop taking Instagram pictures. It’s all about the experience and memories, connecting with others, and the perfect Insta-pic! I also love eating, which I classify as my strength and weakness.
What’s your favorite dessert from Filipino Fusion Desserts?
My favorite dessert is the pastillas! I can never just eat one, and I LOVE every flavor.
